My family goes to a cottage resort called “The Birches Resort” in Buckhorn, Ontario for a week every summer. It gets its name from the abundance of birch trees surrounding the cottages and the long driveway towards the cottages. Each year, my immediate family, along with 4 of my dad’s cousins and their families spend the week together here. I am the 5th generation to be going there each summer and it’s a special place for all of us. The owners of the resort are getting older, so we don’t really know what to expect for the coming years. They have a son, although we are uncertain he would want to run the business, and if they were to sell all their property, it would be sold as individual lots for people to buy property and build their own personal cottages – meaning the Birches would no longer exist. I figured this ornament would be a special keep sake if ever comes the day that this place we all love so much does no longer exist. The beautiful drawing along with the actual piece of birch it is made on was too fitting for our “story” and the coordinates are for The Birches Resort. I will be giving the ornaments to each family that goes up to the cottage every year.

I bought the slate and cream [pallet picture frame set] for my sister and she absolutely loves them. I purchased an 18” birch wood wreath from you for the holidays. It is beautiful and versatile. It has just the right amount of decoration. I probably will keep it on my front door October through March. The wood is beautiful and has not faded in the sunlight. It is also thin enough so it is easy to store.
